How to cancel my residence visa in uae as per uae labour law 2024, Labour ban in uae
The employee who is working in UAE mainland private sector Company and whose visa is sponsored by the Employer need to keep in mind that he must cancel his residency visa before leaving the country.
After your resignation or termination from your company your employer is responsible to first cancel your work permit or labor contract from Ministry of Human resources and Emiratisation and then he can go ahead to GDRFA for cancellation of Residency Visa through any AMER Center.
For proceeding the cancellation as an employee your signature on cancelation paper is must.
Note: Signature on cancellation paper is your acceptance that you have received your all dues related to your employment like your all balance salary and Gratuity till date.
Cancellation of Work Permit / labor contract from MoHRE
- Required Documents
- Typed Application with employee signature
- Original Passport of employee
- Work permit Copy (If available)
- Trade License Copy
- Original E- signature card
- Immigration Establishment card
Procedure for cancellation of work permit in UAE
- Get typed application for cancellation of work permit from Tas'heel center and stamp company seal.
- Use the E signature card of authorized person for approval of sponsor
Cancellation of Residency Visa from GDRFA
After cancellation of Work permit your employer may go to any AMER Center for cancellation of Residency Visa.
Employer can process the cancellation of residency visa online through General Directorate of Residency and Foreign Affairs (GDRFA) online portal using username and password.
- Grace Period
- Grace period for Visa: 30 days from the date of expiry.
- Grace period for Labor card: 60 days from the date of expiry
- Grace period for Emirates ID: 30 days from the date of expiry.
Dependent: Any person having dependent like Children or Wife under his sponsorship must cancel their residency visa first. The dependent can stay in UAE 30 days after cancellation of the residency.
You must leave UAE within grace period of 30 days after cancellation of your residency visa.
If you stay after grace period fine will be calculated on basis of AED 25 per day.
Things to keep in mind before cancelling the residency visa or leaving UAE permanently
If you are leaving UAE permanently you must follow the below steps to be safe return in UAE again
- Close your all bank accounts
- Pay your all pending utility bills or apply for disconnection.
- Cancel your Home tenancy contract.
- Selling your vehicle (if any )
- Pay your all balances of credit cards.
